I have received a number of private emails looking for advice on determining ankle(cuff) size measurements for socks, when the shoe size is known. This seems to be a universal problem, especially when the pair of socks is intended to be a surprise or you don't want to ask the recipient to take measurements. Although there is lots of great information on the web on shoe sizes and foot measurements, information on shoe size and ankle (cuff) measurements is limited.

Please provide the following:

1. Shoe Size
2. Sized for a child, woman, or man?
3. Foot length
4. Cuff measurement, measured above ankle bone at its smallest point.
5. Ball of foot measurement, measured around your foot at its largest point
6. Heel height, measured from the floor to the center of your ankle bone on the inside of your leg

European sizes gladly accepted!
